Information available to the News Desk of the Colleges of Education Weekly Journal indicates that 44 public Colleges of Education have taken part in the preparation and presentation of the 2021-2024 medium-term budget hearing organized by the National Council for Tertiary Education (NCTE).
Principals and other key Management members of the 44 Colleges of Education took part in this very important exercise at the NCTE Council Chamber from Tuesday, 29th September to Friday, 2nd October 2020.
The budget hearing focused on the linkage between strategic plans and policy priorities for the medium term, revenue and expenditure requirements for 2020, and key achievements made to date with the implementation of current policies.
Each College was given 15 minutes to do a PowerPoint presentation on the performance of the 2020 Budget as of August and the proposal for 2020.
The budget hearing led by the Sub-Committee of Finance at the NCTE is expected to enable NCTE to recommend allocation of funds towards running costs and capital expenditure to the Minister of Education.
Checks by the News Desk also indicate that some Colleges could not meet the needed requirements at the budget hearing and have been given another opportunity to represent their budget at a later date.
The News Desk will keep you updated on any further development on this very important issue.
