Rainstorm Destroys Lecture Halls At Tamale College Of Education

On Wednesday, April 28, 2021, the Tamale Metropolis experienced heavy rainstorms accompanied by windstorms and thunder lightening. This happened in the late hours of Wednesday night, which led to the destruction of three (3) lecture rooms.

The heavy windstorms took off the roofs of three (3) lecture rooms exposing the electrical wiring and ceiling, which poses a risk to student teachers.

However, a proactive step taken by the Management of the College has seen complete repair works done on the lecture block.

At the time of filing this report, Principal of the College, Dr. Sulemana Iddrisu speaking to the News Desk of the Colleges of Education Weekly Journal, stated that “it was an unfortunate incident. It happened at a time when the College was hosting the UCC Sandwich students. Management urgently fixed the damaged block to prepare for regular students who have started reporting to school”.

Checks by the News Desk also indicates that the College Management bore the entire cost of the repair works.
