On Wednesday, 28th July 2021, Miss Nana Adjoa Gaise and her colleague Miss Patience Gyamfi both first-year students (student teachers) of St. Monica’s College of Education performed a philanthropist’s role by presenting a brand new wheelchair to young Wisdom Addai, a physically challenged pupil at SDA Primary School in Asante Mampong.
Miss Nana Adjoa Gaise and Miss Patience Gyamfi were allocated to the school this semester for their Field Experience/Supported Teaching in School (STS) programme. Whilst at the school, they observed that an old wheelchair being used by young Wisdom Addai was not in good condition so they decided to buy a brand new wheelchair for him to make him comfortable both in school and at home.
At a brief presentation function in the school, young Addai and her mother were full of delight as they thanked the student teachers for the kind gesture and prayed to God to bless Miss Nana Adjoa Gaise and Miss Patience Gyamfi in all their endeavours.
Present at the ceremony were Mr. Emmanuel Amankwah, the College Secretary; Mr. Thomas Ampomah, the Supported Teaching Coordinator; Mr. Stephen Addae Kyenkyehene, the Head of Sciences Department; Mr. Nelson Opoku-Mensah, the Link Tutor for the school and the Lead mentor and mentors of the school. The Staff of St. Monica’s College of Education also presented cash of Three Hundred Ghana Cedis (GHȼ300.00) to young Wisdom Addai to be used for his personal needs.
