IEPA UCC, to foster Ghana’s drive towards the achievement of SDG 4

The Director-General of the category II UNESCO Institute for Educational Planning and Administration (IEPA) at the University of Cape Coast, Dr. Michael Boakye Yiadom says the institute is committed to lead Ghana’s drive in achieving Sustainable Development Goal 4 within the next few years.

The SDG 4 which is very crucial for every developing country seeks to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.

Dr. Boakye Yiadom indicated that, the initiative forms part of their mandate as a UNESCO category II center of Excellence and their resolve to provide leadership and meet expectations.

“All that we do is to ensure that SDG 4 is achieved so we exist to provide leadership for the achievement of SGD 4 and as an institute, we believe we must meet that expectation.” He emphasized in an interview on the ATLANTIC WAVE on Tuesday.

He therefore called on department, college and organizations that promotes education in the university to be intentional and relate all activities, programs and projects to achieving the 10 targets within the SDG 4.

He said this will ensure that, the Ministry of Education and the Ghana commission for UNESCO through their annual report to UNESCO can present reliable data that is credible to form the basis to inform policy research and practice.

On her part, the Head of Communications and Public Relations at IEPA, Nana Efua Rockson urged all individuals to support and play their respective roles in ensuring the country meets the stipulated target.
