A tutor of Mampong Technical College of Education passed-on on Tuesday, 24th December 2019 at a health facility in Kumasi where he was hospitalized and receiving treatment until his demise.
Mr. Badu Baah Kwame died at the age of fifty (50). Until his sudden demise, Mr. Badu Baah Kwame taught at Mampong Technical College of Education for about 15 years. He was in the Languages Department where he lectured Asante Twi.
He left behind a wife and six (6) children.
On Thursday, 9th January 2020, the family of the late Badu Baah Kwame and the College held a one-week observation at the Forecourt of the College’s administration block. Old and continuing students of the College, staff and well-wishers graced the one-week observation in their numbers in memory of the late tutor who was affectionately called Major.
It was a sad moment as most people at the one-week observation could still not believe the news of Mr. Baah Kwame’s death.
In an interaction with the News Desk during the one-week observation ceremony, the SRC President of Mampong Technical College of Education, Master Dennis Owusu Ansah stated that “death as inevitable as it is, happens to be one of the major tragedies that comes as part of human life. The entire MAMTECH community and the Mampong Township at large are saddened by the demise of our beloved lecturer Mr. Badu Baah Kwame lovingly called Major. I personally never sat for his lectures but I was told that he always dispensed off his duties in a humorous style. The cold hands of death has strike our land and has left us all in bewilderment. All affiliate Colleges are invited to join us on 30th January, 2020 on the land of Men, Mampong Technical College of Education as we observe the final funeral rite”.
The legendary Michelangelo once said “Death and love are the two wings that bear the good man to Heaven”. All though Major is gone, his good works still knocks in the hearts and minds of many.
The final funeral rite is scheduled to take place at the Forecourt of MAMTECH Administration Block on Thursday, 30th January, 2020.
