PRINCIPAL OF BEREKUM COLLEGE OF EDUCATION HOST A FIFTEEN (15) MEMBER DELEGATION FROM HANS-BÖCKLER-BERUFSKOLLEG, MÜNSTER- GERMANY AT HIS OFFICE

The fifteen member delegation led by Mr. Martin Hammerhofer arrived at the Kotoka International Airport, Accra on 24th January, 2020 at 7:50pm from Germany and finally got to Berekum on 25th January, 2020.

After their familiarization visit to the College and the Berekum Community on 26th and 27th January, 2020, the Principal hosted the team in his office to officially welcome them. The team was introduced to the Principal by the Key Contact Person for the College – Mr. Andrews Ohene Darteh. 

Mr. Ohene Darteh informed the Principal that there were three (3) key reasons for the two weeks visit. Thus, sign the draft Memorandum of Understanding to officially endorse the friendship between the two Colleges, discuss issues concerning a proposed Guesthouse/hostel facility and Solar Power System that is to be constructed on the Berekum College of Education campus and finally be engaged in various academic and socio-cultural activities which form the basis for the partnership.   

The Principal expressed gratitude to the almighty God for bringing them safely and thanked the team for their decision to visit Ghana and the College again. He reiterated  the College’s commitment to the partnership. 

The team from Hans-Böckler-Berufskolleg, Münster- Germany thanked the Principal of Berekum College of Education – Mr. Prince Yeboah Marfo and the Management of the College for their support and making their stay comfortable. He  further conveyed greetings from their Principal – Mr. Günther Menke, the entire staff and students from Hans-Böckler-Berufskolleg. Two Dell laptop computers were presented to the Principal on behalf of Hans-Böckler-Berufskolleg to be used for Administrative purposes at the College Administration and Library as a token of their commitment to the partnership.

Receiving the laptops Mr. Prince Yeboah Marfo, thanked the team and the entire Hans-Böckler-Berufskolleg, Münster for the kind gesture and promised that the laptops would be used for the purpose for which they were brought. 

In another development, Mr. Hammerhofer hinted that work has started already to get a sustained source of funding for the Guesthouse/hostel project but the College must do it part by the getting the ground ready. Following that, the Principal led the delegation from Hans-Böckler-Berufskolleg and key members of the College to visit the site for the construction of Guesthouse (Münster-House). 

The Principal hoped that the vision would come to pass and pledged his support fully to the partnership.
