26-year old Level 200 B.Ed Student electrocuted to death

A 26-year-old Level 200 student teacher, Mr. Sariah Abdul – Rauf Inusah of Offinso College of Education, Offinso, met his untimely death on Friday, 1st May, 2020. He was electrocuted during a construction work at his native town Garu in the Upper East Region. 

Mr. Rauf Inusah, affectionately called Biggie by his colleagues on campus, was a member of the Wesley Hall. He was offering B.Ed. Junior High School Education (R. M. E & Social Studies). 

The sad incident happened when the late, Mr. Sariah Abdul – Rauf Inusah was digging a building foundation trench. His family confirmed the news to Mr. Afari Ackah Victor, the SRC P. R. O. of his College. The family narrated that, a guy known as “Garu Burger” hired him to work. While digging, he was electrocuted and died instantly. According to the family, there was an electric wire underground which caused the electrocution, leading to his death.

The SRC in a statement signed by its P. R. O. expressed its deep and heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, friends, everyone who loved Rauf Inusah. May Allah accept the gentle soul of our late brother to His Kingdom and give the family and friends the strength and courage to bear this irreversible loss.

The statement further added that “nothing can prepare us for the loss of a friend or loved one. The most important thing we can do during this difficult time is to support and comfort one another and remember to cherish our friends and family every day of our lives”.
